Teresa's contribution to Vietnam and Taiwan education

About Taiwan Shute University

Shu-te University is a new university of science and technology that aims to provide students with the best learning environment for both native and foreign students. Shu-Te University is committed to achieving teaching excellence and developing higher standards for commerce, service and design industries. In 1986, “Shu-Te Institute of Technology” was founded in Yen Chau, Kaohsiung.

The Institute offered four undergraduate programs in 1997: Information Management, Business Administration, Applied Foreign Languages, and Interior Design. In 1998, another four programs were added: Insurance & Finance, Visual Communication Design, Fashion Design, and Early Childhood Care & Education. In addition, the Extension Education Center was established to offer four-year degree programs in both day and night sections for full time and part time students.

The University currently consists of five colleges, fifteen departments, and nine graduate schools. Through its programs of instruction, research, opportunities for extended education, and collaborative relationships with private enterprise, public and nongovernmental organizations, Shu Te University fulfills the commitment to its mission. That is to produce qualified professionals equipped with the broad knowledge base, specialized technological expertise, creativity, and experience needed to meet the challenges of the Twenty-first Century successfully in their future careers.

About Professor Teresa Lin Ju

Professor Teresa Lin Ju was born in 1950 in Taiwan, but studying in the US. She owns a Ph.D. Information Systems Nova Southeastern University (USA, 2000) and Master of Computer Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University (USA, 1984). She underwent the process of working, long-term studies in specialized fields from 1978 to 2011, with many different positions as advisers, chief research institutes. From 2000 to 2008, she worked at the University of Taiwan Shute in many roles, and left a great contribution.

Prof. Teresa has greatly contributed to the connection between Taiwan Shu-te University and the universities of Vietnam. Currently she works as:

-          Lunghwa U of Science and Technology

-          Director, Taiwan Education Center (Da Nang, Vietnam)

-          Director, Taiwan/Vietnam Higher Education Cooperation Center

Teresa’s Contribution to Vietnam – Taiwan education

During the work, Professor Teresa has made a special contribution to the development of cooperative education between Vietnam - Taiwan.  She has held many training and research programs between the universities of VN-TW as : exchange  information programs, forums and seminars; support for scholarships and bachelor, masters and PhD students  who come from Vietnam.

Professor Teresa supported Vietnam students when they were at the beginning of learning in Taiwan Shute and many universitys in Taiwan so that many students were able to learn easily and quickly. Because of her positive contribution, Deputy Minister Bui Van Ga, the representative of the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam has given Prof. Teresa the commemorative Medals for the education contribution. This is the greatest recognition of the education and training presenting for who have made ​​special contributions to career of Vietnam education. On 08.12.2015 Prof. Teresa came to Vinahardware company to visit her old student – Mr. Bui Nhan Tien. Mr. Nhan Bui Tien is currently director of Vinahardware company. He used to study at Taiwan Shute University and got great assistant from Prof. Teresa.
